| The Japanese community has been coming to San Francisco since the early 1900s. In fact at one point the community in San Francisco was the largest outside of Japan. The city has a Japantown which boasts of three Japanese oriented shopping centers, Sushi restaurants and a structure called the Peace Pagoda.
